Yesterday I had the privilege of spending the day at Brentwood Bay Resort and Spa (above left) - with a group of awesome educators from our school. We spent most of the day sharing learning that each teacher had done through this year - think mini "Ted Talks". We also found time to kayak and stand up paddle board before our wrap up dinner with the Head of school and directors. As we kayaked, an eagle soared about 10m above our head, seals popped their heads up here and there, and the water below us was full of non-poisonous jellyfish (their name escapes me)... it was stunning! One of my colleagues commented that when you just stay still and just notice - there is so much to see. Everything around you seems to come to life. As she and I stood on the dock, we watched a star fish on the bottom of the ocean, and then a crab making its way between two large rocks.
The second picture above was sent to me today from my cousin who waits at our cottage at Sauble beach for the Ontario 'May 2- 4' weekend.... historically we swim during this weekend. This picture above was meant to be her 'full disclosure' to what I am boarding a plane in the wee hours of the morning to come to! Can you see the chunks of ice!?!?
While the point of this might be 'what am I thinking?!?'.... it's not! I can't wait to hug my family, and to walk where I have walked for my whole life...to soak up the familiar sounds and smells of a place that just is in our bones! This weekend, with gratitude I travel East - and I will make a point at times throughout the weekend - just to stay still and notice....if you are anywhere nearby, you might notice the big grin on my face :-)
