This past week Paul and I met with the surgeon after my second surgery to get the results. She was quite pleased with how the surgeries are healing, and said that they got clear margins (meaning they got all the cancer they could see, with some nice clear border around it - I think?) ... we keep waiting from someone to say that I am 'cancer free'; though, I don't think that pronouncement may ever happen, just based on how medical people speak about this. So, we are happy with those results and now look forward to May 20 when we hope to get clearer about next steps in treatment.
I have had some phone conversations this week with BC Cancer Agency and my doctor in Ontario about the possibility of doing some of the potential treatment there over the summer. It seems as though that would be tricky at best, but we will continue to ask questions and hope.
Today we are enjoying a beautiful sunny day - relaxation, and some time for a bike ride and dinner on the Harbour. Hope you are all enjoying and being celebrated on this Mother's Day weekend.
